After reading this book I’m a little torn about how I feel about it, I think I like it about the same as the previous book, I thought it was an enjoyable read but I still have a lot of issues with this book. There were some things about this book that bothered me but didn’t dissuade me from wanting to continue this book or the others in this series.
One of the biggest issues that I had with this book was how Edward acted at the beginning of this book and by the fact that he wasn’t even present for a majority of the book. As I said in my review for the previous book I went into Twilight expecting to not like Edward but to my surprise, I kind of liked him and I wanted to see what I thought of him in this one. However, because of his lack of presence for most of the book, I’m still not sure how I feel about him.
Not surprising but I’m still not a fan of Bella, she still continues to annoy me, and for more or less of the same reasons. especially when Edward is concerned. How she acts when he is gone, and how she purposely puts herself in danger was so stupid, and I’m still not sure exactly what she was trying to accomplish. yeah she was hearing Edwards voice but all it was was her inner conscious telling her what she wanted
One thing I did like where she was concerned was her friendship with Jacob, it did bother me how he treats her when she’s around a vampire, I wish he would just accept it and move on, she shouldn’t have to choose, her relationship with both Edward and Jacob are completely different. I was very happy that Jacob played a bigger role in this book and I can’t wait to see more of him the rest of the series. At this point I don’t have a ship yet, it’s either team Jacob or team Edward, but since Edward wasn’t really in this book and I still feel like were just getting to know Jacob I can’t choose yet. I believe whatever goes down in the next book will be the deciding factor for me.
Other than Bella’s friendship with Jacob, finding out about the werewolves, and the lack of Edward nothing really happened in this book. I kept expecting something to happen with Victoria but I was disappointed, I feel like at this point there just dragging out this storyline and properly developing it, I wish there would be some kind of encounter where something happens and the next book be the after-effects of that.
